Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park

My visit to the National Parks of Grand Teton and Yellowstone came about when I joined the Washington Photo Safari ( www.washingtonphotosafari.com ). The safari began on September 30, 2007 and was lead by Sean Quintilian, a guide whose experience and knowledge of the parks and their wild life spans over 25 years. From the very start of the safari until its end a week later, the group of six photographers and our guide cooperated in our daily search for the best photo opportunity.

From the very start of the safari until its end a week later, the group of six photographers and our guide cooperated in our daily search for the best photo opportunity. After the safari was over I decided to extend my visit by another week since there was so much to see and appreciate in these two great open spaces. My final collection of 3,300 images give testimony to the extraordinary natural beauty contained within Gran Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.
I was very lucky during my visit to experience a great diversity of weather that allowed me to capture the park in several different lights. I managed to photograph sunny days, clear autumn days, a sprinkling of rain and even the park’s first snow storm of the winter, each of which offered a different perspective and dramatic backdrop to the setting. As a lover of nature and photography, Grand Teton and Yellowstone provided everything I could desire and I know that I will return again during the deep winter and early spring seasons to capture the unique view of the parks they will provide.
Many thanks are due to Sean for his expert planning of the safari and the wildlife photography tips he generously shared.
