All About Me

I was born in Prague, then the capital city of Czechoslovakia. In 1964 I have moved to Canada and spent my first year in Eastern Township Sutton, before I moved to Montreal, where I started my undergraduate studies in Sciences. After graduating from McGill University in 1970 I have moved to Toronto where I continued my studies, first at the University of Toronto and then at the York University. During this time I also started to work at University of Toronto in various departments and different capacities until my retirement in 2005.

Since then I have followed my life long interest in photography and art, nature and traveling which I continue to explore and learn through various courses and workshops with different artists and photographers. You can see details in the section on My Art and My Photography and see my work at my William Barek Art and Photo Galleries site.

Hi,

I fumbled into your website when I was trying to find information about Debby Smith's acrylic class at the ROM. You have some really great art on you site! I especially liked the oils painted in the 70's, magnificent...

I was wondering though, how did you find Ms. Debby Smith's class as I am planning to take it. I have not touched painting since my highschool days more than 10 years ago. Anyways, thanks for your input. Have a great day.

Julie
